Things are officially starting to heat up around Notre Dame Football and the retreading of the quarterback battle will at least have some “fresh” perspective or news as the Irish will kick off camp later this week. You know it’s close to the season when a USC fan creates a commenting account just to go into a Notre Dame blog and bash the Irish and the writer. One did just that on my first Subway Domer post. Let’s do this thing Football Season.
Not to be missed - Irish Athletic Director Jack Swarbrick is hosting a football blogger round table of sorts Tuesday, July 31st that will be the 1st of its kind. Access to the AD or even basic press conferences is not typically afforded to bloggers at any school, especially at Notre Dame. Tune in live and create a Google+ account if you haven’t got one already.
A little while back a new College Football betting & prognosticating site, Saturday Edge, asked me if I’d answer a few questions about the 2012 Irish Football Team and provide some insight on the schedule as it looks in July. The article with my commentary went up this week and you can get a preview of some of the things I’ll be saying as we delve deeper in the predicting what the 2012 season has in store. The questions posed to me were as follows:
- What are Notre Dame’s main strengths this season?
- What are the Irish’s main weaknesses?
- In a schedule analysis, which games are a toss-up & which might they lose?
- Any special notes about the team or 2012 season you think are important?
The answers, which I supplied with brutal honesty, along with the current spreads of the 2012 games and their prognosticator’s take can all be found at:

Over at my new digs I’m starting to get comfortable and my new boss, Subway Domer, who cranked out his first Bagpipe Monday with some interesting video of our friends at Kansas – Dayne Crist & Charlie Weis. Worth a look.
We’ll be back on the air with a new Down the Line on BlogTalkRadio & iTunes. We’ll be getting into the 2012 previews out the gate & my 1st episode of my solo podcast – The Man Cave Quarterback – will be debuting VERY soon. Stay tuned.
