I had the pleasure of participating in a few great interviews with Notre Dame alums in the past 2 weeks at TNNDN. On Down the Line we hosted John Walters who graduated in 1988 with past guests and stars Tim Brown & Nicholas Sparks. Walters, a sportswriter who was an ND pre-med, has written for Sports Illustrated, The Daily, The Huffington Post and others since leaving South Bend and more recently has created a rabid Twitter following with his astute observations on sports, media, politics and Saturday Night Live (!). Our Sunday staple, Ask Oscar with 1994 football alumni Oscar McBride, hosted 2012 graduate Melissa Henderson. One of Irish soccer’s biggest stars ever (saying quite a bit as 3 alumnae took home Olympic medals in the sport), Henderson was recently the #2 pick in the Women’s Pro Soccer League after winning a National Championship at ND and taking home multiple All-America awards.
I have conveniently taken their interviews out of the full show and loaded them to our YouTube page and provided them below. If you’re interested in the full episodes of Down the Line & Ask Oscar please they can be found HERE. You can also get ALL our shows on iTunes & our BlogTalkRadio page so you are updated about upcoming and archived episodes.
Melissa Henderson speaks on professional, playing for the US National team in Rio 2016 & what drives her to succeed:
John Walters dissects Brian Kelly’s decision at quarterback, his memories of ND classmate & acclaimed author Nicholas Sparks and he answers my question: “Who is a bigger household name in 5 years – Saturday Night Live’s Jay Pharoah or Taran Killam?”
