After months of intricate planning and self introspection, I finally dropped Episode 1 of The Man Cave Quarterback. I had many fantastic ideas for the new show and plenty of them hit the bottom of the trash barrel. Once I started recording these segments and laying the seperate tracks down I tried to mold the show I’d formed in my head to what sounded half-way decent in the headphones. You’ll find a mix of interviews, muscial interludes, Fighting Irish Football takes from yours truly, and some other new stuff. I’m excited about where this is headed, but there is a long season with plenty of work ahead.
Guest Interviews: Matt Mulvey & Mike Quick. Mulvey just graduated from Notre Dame after spending four seasons on the football team as a walk-on quarterback. He’s more famously known as the leader of the Red Army – the Irish QBs wearing red hats and signaling in the plays next to Brian Kelly during the game. As one of very few people to ever sit in on quarterback meetings with Brian Kelly, Everett Golson, Andrew Hendrix and Tommy Rees, he provides unique perspective to the ongoing QB battle. Mike Quick has been covering High School football in New York, New Jersey & Connecticut for over 25 years at Madison Square Garden. Having covered current Irish players Elijiah Shumate & Ishaq Williams since their early days on the gridiron, he doesn’t sugarcoat his feelings about their potential and past. Quick also updates the recruitniks on whether Rutgers can remain a recruiting power post-Schiano and where he stands on two top Notre Dame recruits – DE/OLB Ebenezer Ogundeko & DE Alquadin Muhammad.
Audio clips from: Brian Kelly, Kevin McDougal, Gerome Sapp, Chuck Martin & Jack Nolan

Steve,
I know you are now associated with Subway Domer but are you still going to post you initial reactions and man cave game reports? They were well done. I’ve been on the subway domer site every other day or so looking you content by you. There is none. To me the subway domer is not all that interesting. Not much new. It would be nice if your role was expanded………………….
Hey Don, glad to have another season under way. Between all the new podcasts and new (actual) work stuff I’ve been WAY behind on getting some proper posts up. When I do I will be linking them up here to his site. I have a bunch of free time the next 3-4 days so I’m hoping to get rolling tonight actually. I DO plan on doing Game Reactions, Reviews & Previews of all the games like last season. I’m not sure they’ll be as long as 2011, but I hope better.
Subway Domer is certainly a different site in regards to ND and he has popular features that people love during the season. I’m hoping to bring another dimension to the site along with BlogDavie & SteveInIowa. I’m looking forward to it and also having a bigger audience. I have freedom over there to do what I want, but with him having 3 new writers this year I think we’re gonna be feeling each other out and making sure we’re not doing the same stuff on the same site. I’ve got some posts marinating at this moment, so hopefully I get back into the rhythm of the season in the next few days.
