STEVE HERRING
Herring Bone Sports Editor-in-Chief – Steve Herring
Welcome to Herring Bone Sports, the first website of me – Steve Herring. I primarily cover Notre Dame Football, Saturday Night Live, and the Los Angeles Angels. Also featured will be fantasy sports, movies, stand-up comedy, the NFL, travel, food, beverage, likely much more. I try to spin General American life commentary into all aspects of my writing. The site also features other contributors, some of which can be found here.
I now serve as the TNNDN Network President. Our network features four shows and podcasts, as well as a YouTube page with videos and show clips. Along with co-hosting the flagship show, Down the Line, I also serve as Executive Producer on all shows. TNNDN Network covers all Irish sports and community efforts with an emphasis on the football program. Previous episodes can be found at TNNDN Network page at BlogTalkRadio.com. I am a proud member of The New ND Nation and its efforts to support the university in a more positive, constructive way.
My media and sports background is most closely associated with time spent at Madison Square Garden. I filled a multitude of roles at the famed New York City television network on a variety of award-winning sports shows. I also worked college and post college internships within marketing, broadcasting, and media at: NASCAR & International Speedway Corporation, Arena Football League (New York Headquarters), and the Postseason National Invitational Tournament (aka NIT).
I am originally from La Habra, California, and have also lived in New York, Spain, Washington (DC), New Jersey, Washington (State), and now Boise, Idaho.
I played collegiate football at Orange Coast Community College (JUCO) and Wagner College (I-AA). I am a proud member of the National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame as a Scholar-Athlete. I was inducted into the High School and Community College wings. I was also named an Academic All-American following my sophomore year at OCC. I graduated from Wagner in December of 2005.
I spent many interesting years within East Coast restaurant and club industry. I managed and tended bar in Washington, DC at the Capitol Hill landmark Tunnicliff’s Tavern. I also managed “The World’s Highest Revenue Bowling Alley” during a stint at the famous Bowlmor Lanes in Manhattan. I have strong interest in all things food, beverage, and nightlife, despite the many late nights and long hours associated with “the industry”.
The site started in July of 2011 as a tool to voice opinions on my favorite topics and to get a better grasp on website design, marketing, programming, etc. It has turned into a full-blown passion rapidly and I’m going to continue to craft my words and my site relentlessly moving forward. If it turns into writing or working on something I love it would be a welcome opportunity.
Thanks for stopping by. Please share with friends, family, colleagues any articles you find to your liking and PLEASE comment on anything at any time.

Contact I insist on emphasizing my “outsider” status to any and all readers of this site. I am NOT a Notre Dame alumni and am not affiliated with the University of Notre Dame. I have been an avid fan of the team since a childhood trip to South Bend and the Notre Dame campus in the 1980s and that dedication has carried into my adult life. Any commentary on the Irish is strictly my opinion and is not to be associated with anything else Notre Dame affiliated. This applies to anything else covered on this site … for now.
